Medical Discovery Partners LLC’s first technology, Analyte Controls for immunohistochemistry, will foster more accurate and reproducible measurement of cancer biomarkers in tumor biopsies. The technology provides, for the first time, a standardized reference for clinical laboratory testing of tumor markers in biopsy specimens. These controls will improve the accuracy of test results from biopsy specimens. The Analyte Controls project was funded by the National Cancer Institute. We tested the Analyte Controls in national clinical trials in collaboration with College of American Pathologists (CAP), and published our findings in 2008. This technology R&D project is largely complete and a commercial partner is bringing it to the marketplace. |
